St. Patrick’s Day is a perfect excuse for a party. You can decorate your whole house in green, serve green donuts for breakfast and have an excuse to make Irish Coffee. While you can go out and party on the town, it’s cheaper and safer to throw a home party.
Decide on Your Theme
Many St. Patrick’s Days parties involve a pub crawl. While you can’t exactly go from bar to bar in your house, you can set up your house with different areas. For example, you may designate one area as Irish whiskey flights, in another area have samplings of Irish or green beer and the like. You can even just have an area where you serve different types of Guinness beer.
Next, decide on whether you want your guests to dress up or just dress in green. Costume parties are always fun, and you can even have a costume contest with some fun Irish-themed prizes.
Getting Your Party Supplies
Green is the word of the day when it comes to St. Patty’s Day. Green banners, decorations, green beer and other fun items will set the mood for the party. Grab some green and gold boas, leprechaun hats and even pots of gold for your guests to wear and play with.
You can even have some fun with the party food. Add green food coloring to everything, including the mac and cheese and cake. It will add to the overall effect, and your guests will have fun daring each other to eat weird-looking foods.
Everybody Loves a Parade
Most major cities have a St. Patrick’s Day Parade. If you can’t make it to your city’s parade or if your hometown doesn’t have one, you can record the parade or stream it live during the party. The parades are fun to watch, and they make for great background entertainment for your party.
While you can play the parade on TV, your guests will be more impressed if you use a projector to project the parade on to a big screen. Depending on the area of the country in which you live, you can set up your screen outside, or you can hang the screen on an empty wall.
Place your rental projector far enough away so that the parade itself takes up the entire screen. If you don’t have a lot of room, you may want to rent a rear projector, which you can set up behind the screen.
Finally, relax, and have fun. It’s your party, and you can have a lot of fun if you want to.

Spring is just around the corner, which means the weather will be getting warmer, and many people will be getting the travel bug. With the economy the way it has been, however, many people are short on cash or are just looking to save their money. You may not be able to fly away to that beautiful island or take a cruise. You may though still want to take a vacation of some sort.
Staycations have never been more popular. You still take time off of work, but you stay at home. Your staycation, however, doesn’t have to be generic. Step it up a notch, and take a virtual vacation around the world.
Rental Projectors Equal a Whole New World
Your own backyard can be the gateway to a whole new world, and that’s just not a reference to playing Disney’s Aladdin. (You can, however, pretend to take a magic carpet ride if you really want to.) Renting a projector and screen allows you to reminisce about places you’ve been or even take virtual tours of places you want to go.
You can attach your computer to the projector, and play slideshows or videos of different places. Set up your backyard like the place where you want to go or have been. For example, if you want to pretend like you’re in a Mexican resort, decorate your patio with tiki huts with a Mexican flare, grab some lounge chairs (preferably around a pool if you have one), and kick back with some Coronas. On the screen, showcase photos or videos of one of the resorts, which you can often find on their or other people’s websites.
If you have previously taken a vacation to the resort, put together a slideshow, and project your memories on to the big screen.
Take a Virtual Walk around a New City
Google Streetview has taken exploration to a whole new level. You can now virtually “walk” around major attractions, including Pompeii and the Iraq Museum in Baghdad from the comfort of your own home. With your computer attached to the projector, stroll around Rome’s Colosseum, or ski down the slopes of Whistler Peak in Whistler, Canada.
Again, make it feel real. If you’re in a cold climate already, snap on your winter gear as you go down the slopes of famous ski resorts. Or, take pictures of each other to “capture the memories” of your staycation.
You’ll get all the benefit of seeing some place new without all the expense and hassle of traveling around the world. Think of the money you’ll save on baggage fees alone. Just don’t forget to rent your projector ahead of time so you’ll have it set up the moment your staycation begins.

Multimedia projectors are quite different from movie projectors. Movie projectors are designed to project film on to a screen. Multimedia projectors can project images from different sources, including DVD players, computers, video games and even your TV. These projectors (whether bought or rented) are fun for individuals to use for special occasions, including movie nights, parties or even corporate events. Yet, you may be wondering how do projectors work?
DLP vs. LCD
Well, the answer to the previous question depends on the type of projector that you have. There are two main types of projectors: DLP and LCD. Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors use tiny mirrors that are strategically placed to project light. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) projectors, on the other hand, use liquid crystals that create a sort of prism effect.
Generally, LCD projectors are less expensive than DLP projectors. (You can, however, save money by renting a projector over buying it, especially if you only plan on using the projector for only a handful of events.) DLP projectors, however, are usually brighter and more vivid than LCD projectors because of the way the light and colors are reflected.
LCD Projector: How It Works
As mentioned earlier, LCD screens use liquid crystals to project light and create images. The crystals create a sort of prism effect, separating all of the colors into primary colors. The liquid crystals are trapped behind two panels, which are located at a 90 degree angle to each other. The crystals in the panel are constantly changing shape and get excited by electricity.
As the electricity moves through the crystals, it causes them to expand, break apart or come closer together. This causes varying amounts of light and shadows to enlarge and show up on your screen.
DLP Projector: How It Works
While the LCD projectors use small liquid crystals, the DLP projector uses a spinning color wheel and mirrors. As the color wheel spins, light will illuminate one color on the wheel, and only that color is displayed.
Light is then reflected by hundreds of thousands of tiny mirrors located inside chips in the projector. The mirrors also don’t stay the same: some will open while others will close. This whole process is extremely fast so you don’t see the break in light and colors. You only see the final product: the image on the screen in front of you.

Employee retreats are multi-layered events. On one hand, these events bring team members closer together since it gives them time to get to know each other on a more personal level. On the other hand, however, it’s a great opportunity to work on issues and plan for the future.
/>Select a Location
While you can have an employee retreat anywhere in the world (including your own conference room), it’s fun to take employees out of their normal surroundings to a new place. Depending on your company’s budget, this may be to some place right around the corner from the office or out of state to places like New Orleans or Vegas.
Get your employees involved in this decision. Throw up a few choices on a projector screen, and take a vote. You don’t want your employees miserable because you chose Seattle, and your entire team hates the rain. Make them feel a part of the decision-making process, and a projector and screen make good whiteboards for this purpose. A rental projector is better than a standard whiteboard for large groups since it allows everyone to see what’s being written.
Set Your Goals
Like all events, a person planning an employee retreat must have a few specific objectives in mind. What do you want to accomplish during the meeting? Are there several key points you want to focus on? What is your team lacking that this event could assist with?
Once you know your goals, create a PowerPoint slide that displays these goals. You also want to display these goals throughout the retreat. One way to do that is to obtain a rental projector and screen, and set up the screen in a central location. For example, a good spot would be the eating areas or even the main conference room. Keep the goals up on the screen throughout the day to remind your entire team of the purpose of the event.
Pick the Leader
More than likely whoever plans the retreat is going to be leading the festivities. Sometimes, however, this is not the case. Be sure to have the facilitator in place weeks before the retreat, and make sure they know their role. The facilitator is the neutral party in all of the sessions. If you feel like none of your team would fit this role, you can bring in someone from an outside team, or hire an actual facilitator.
The facilitator is there to make sure that everyone has a voice. He may also be the person responsible for writing down ideas on which people will be discussing or voting. The facilitator can connect his computer to a rental projector, and type out the ideas so that they show up on a screen large enough for everyone to see.
Final Thoughts
Be sure that you use your time wisely, and keep to the stated goals. Make sure that everyone on your team has a say in the matters and that everyone is collaborating with each other.

Twitter has become one of the best ways to get your message out as fast as possible. The ability to tweet out messages to hundreds or thousands of followers has taken marketing to a whole new level. As a professional, you’ll receive immediate feedback on your video, photo or message. And, if they like what you’re saying, they’ll retweet it to hundreds or thousands of additional followers, creating the phenomenon known as “viral marketing.”
Twitter, however, doesn’t just need to be something that you see on your phone or computer. Tweets are a great way to attract and impress participants at conventions, trade shows, product launches and the like. If your consumers like you, they talk about you. Why not show off these compliments in your booth, or at your conventions or events with a rental projector?
Displaying Your Twitter Feed
It’s not entirely necessary to invest in a large screen TV to display your Twitter feed. Instead, set up a large screen, and use a projector to showcase what people are saying about your company and your products. Rear projectors work best for booths or trade show events since you don’t need the projector taking up one of your front tables. For a large event, you can set up the projector in the back of the room and the screen near the front. Just make sure the projector in a spot where people won’t trip over it or where the screen isn’t constantly impeded.
Creating Buzz
Now that you have your projector, you need to get the Twitter discussion going. A great way to do this at an event is to offer some type of prize or giveaway to the people who tweet about your company. For example, if you are giving away a major prize, have your attendees (in 140 characters or less) tell you why they deserve to win it. Project these tweets on to screen, and you’ll have a live feed of all the entries. You can even encourage the attendees’ followers to retweet their message, to spread the word and create additional chances to win.
Not only are the tweets fun to read for the people at the event, it can also increase your Twitter followers and promote your brand to all the attendees’ followers. This dramatically increases your viral outreach.
Don’t Be Afraid of Comments
One of the major worries that brands have about posting live Twitter feeds at conventions, trade shows and other events is that someone may write something negative. This is always a possibility, but generally people write more good comments than bad ones.
If you, however, do get a negative comment, look at it as an opportunity to show others how responsive you are to your consumers. Offer solutions, or commiserate with the follower. Usually, people just want to know that they are heard. If handled appropriately, you may just win that customer over for life.

Murals brighten up any blank wall in any room of your house, but mural artists are expensive. You can, however, have all the benefits of a mural without the expense of a professional. Rental art projectors allow you to take works by famous artists, cool sketches or even your child’s artwork and project them on to your wall. From there, you just need a few drawing pencil, brushes and paint to make your own mural.
Murals of the Past and Future
Murals have been created via projection methods since the Renaissance. The camera obscura (a type of optical device that reflects an image onto a surface) allowed artists to project images on to canvases, allowing them to create traces of the image. The rental projector just makes the process so much easier.
While older projectors required you to have enough room to fit the bulk of the image you wanted to project, you can now use slides. With slides, you don’t have to worry about the image shifting. Plus, you can use any type of illustration with slides: photographs, newspaper articles or magazine images.
Consider Your Space
Before you start selecting the images that you want to use, think about the space, the décor and furniture you plan on using in the room. For example, in an atrium or similar type space with lots of windows, a nature scene might be your best choice. For a baby’s room on the other hand, you might want cartoon characters, fish or whimsical decorations.
Next, you need to think about how large you want the projected image to be. Some projectors are meant for smaller screens, and you may not have enough room to pull them back far enough to fill the entire space. If that’s the case, rent a projector that can make your image significantly larger.
Create Your Masterpiece
Once you get your rental projector, it’s time to start sketching out your mural. Insert your slide or position the image that you want to use on the projector. Turn off or dim the lights as much as possible. You don’t want to leave the overhead lights at full power since you won’t be able to see all the details of your picture.
Take a pencil (regular or drafting), and start outlining the reflected image. Do not use a pen or marker since you want to be able to erase any mis-drawn lines. Outline as much or as little of the image that you want to use.
Finally, go over your traced image with a permanent marker or a paint brush. For the outline, use the smallest brush possible. Then, paint in the rest of the image with your selected colors.

Trade shows are ideal for networking, displaying your latest products or services, attracting new business, educating the public and acquiring leads. Most trade show booths, however, are often plain and unattractive. This can cause you to lose potential business since trade show attendees may simply walk past your setup. You need to stand out from the crowd. A great way to do this is to get a rental projector that visually displays all that you have to offer.
Visuals are Better
Study after study has proven that people pay more attention to visuals like photos and videos, and a projector is a great way to catch people’s attention. When setting up a projector in your booth, be sure that it’s not blocking you in any way. A common mistake is that trade show vendors will set up signs or screens near the booth’s entrance. This hinders your ability to speak with trade show attendees. Further, you want attendees to be able to walk freely around the tables inside your booth without tripping over the screen.
Decide on the Presentation
Next, think about what you want to show on your projector screen. Do you really want a full presentation with a soundtrack or talking? If the booth is unmanned, this may be a great option. On the other hand, if the video or slideshow has sound, you may be forced to talk over it, which can be difficult if the volume is too loud.
There is also a compromise to this dilemma. You can leave the sound turned down for most of the show. If, however, you have a strong lead that sincerely wants to learn more about your company, the video may be the best outlet. In that case, raise the volume on the video only for the short time that the potential customer is around. Depending on the size of the show, the trade show floor may be considerably noisy.
When selecting a rental projector for your booth, consider the size of the space that you are renting. You don’t want to rent a projector and screen that takes up the entire area, leaving you with no room to interact with attendees. Rent a smaller screen and a short throw projector — preferably a rear projection setup — that you can place a table or area behind the screen.
Lumens
Look for a projector with at least 3,000 lumens. Trade show lighting varies by location. A projector with this lumen strength will compensate for varying lighting conditions.
If you’ve never used a rental projector before, you need to rent one from a trusted company. Projector123.com is a reputable company with a wide selection of quality projectors. Learn more here.

There’s still time to throw a killer Oscar night bash — all you’ll need is a rental projector, a few props, and a dose of creativity and drama. Learn how!
This year, the Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 26th, and televised starting at 7:00pm Eastern time. The event promises to be a smashing good time, with Billy Crystal serving as the emcee. Here are some quick tips for throwing a fun Oscar night celebration in your home.
vspace="5"align="left" />Special Effects
Rent a projector to add some fun and pizzazz to your event. This will create the effect of being at the movies, watching on the big screen. You don’t need a projection screen – any blank wall (light-colored, preferably) works best, or you can hang a white sheet and pull it taut for a “screen.”
Dress Your Best
Why not increase the fun factor with a dress-up theme? You can invite guests to wear their best formal attire, or dress as a character from their favorite film. Have a prize for the best costume, the most creative costume, and anyone who dresses as Oscar himself.
Remember the Food
Food is a key element of any social gathering, and the Oscars are no different. Let the food match your theme – in other words, if you’re asking folks to dress up, serve a more elegant spread. If your party is more fun and casual, let the food reflect that theme. If you need help, ask your guests to bring a snack or a dish (or beverage) to share.
Pad and Paper
It’s always fun to make predictions and see who guesses correctly. If you plan to incorporate this into your evening, you can handle it one of two ways – either distribute forms ahead of time via email, or pass out pen and paper during that evening. Be sure to recognize or award a prize to the person who guesses the most correctly.
